Both require a high degree of commitment and creativity to be successful, in addition to skill at making use of limited resources. But the main benefit of starting a company with people instead of profit margins as your bottom line comes from knowing that you are making changes that will positively affect someone’s life.
A heartwarming story. I'm a single mom and I love being home most of the day. There ARE things that we can do to make a living from home. We just have to be resourceful and work hard. Hopefully I am and will be able to help other women to have this lifestyle.

This SO resonated with me.

As a reporter now entrepreneur it warms my heart how many resourceful generous entrepreneurs gave me practical advice, steered prospects my way and candidly suggested some course corrections. I did not wan a handout - i wanted to weave my own way to success and to enjoy the camaraderie of such resilient, curious folks. Do good groups, by their nature, are asking for handouts and there is a world of need out there. But the Jackies of the world are what lights me up to support because they are already working hard, they too will give back/forward one day.... and the seek self-sufficiency which is good for us all.

None of us know it all and many of the people who helped me have been in positions where I could share my experience to help them. This "we" attitude you "careergirls" exemplify is something I hope grows more prevalent out of this down time.

That's a great point - many entrepreneurs ultimately create jobs for others. Every company you see, whether it employs 2 or 200,0000, had to start with one person or group who had the vision and the drive to make it happen.
