Yep, I Called a Psychic.

A few months ago, I received a nice email from a reader.  After a few pleasantries, she said “I know this sounds crazy, but would you be interested in a free psychic reading?”  Turns out girlfriend was working with Hollywood Psychics in hopes of showing people that psychics can offer valuable insight in all areas of life.

Now let’s back up a second.

Is it just me or have you guys ever been curious about talking to a psychic?

I had never talked to one but had always secretly wanted to.  I heart Theresa Caputo and totally believe her intuition is real.  In fact, I’ve always been eerily intuitive myself.  I constantly feel things coming that end up happening.

I was also raised Catholic which means my religion has made me question whether or not psychics are somehow related to the devil.  To exacerbate this fear, as soon as my first Chicago roommate went to a psychic, a streak of terrible things happened to her for the next several years. I didn’t want this to happen to me.

But when a nice reader says “how about a free psychic reading?”, I say “hell yeah!”

I was anticipating my call the entire work day.  When I finally got connected, my girl Abella asked for my birthday (I’m a Taurus) then suggested that we start with my personal relationship.  She suggested that we discuss my career next.

Side note: I think it’s really cool that this company values talking about your career (are you surprised that I think this is cool considering I write a blog called “Ms. Career Girl?” :)).  I’m a huge believer that what happens in your career often influences what happens at home, with your sense of self and with your loved ones.

Ok Abella, let’s do this.

I’ll provide some general highlights of what we talked about without revealing too much (or totally jinxing myself)!

Abella started by asking for my relationship status.  I’ve been married to the funniest, loudest and most loyal guy ever for about 7 months. I call him Hubby on the blog & in social media. In life, I call him Thano. She channelled her “spirit guide Gabriel” to “bring him into focus.”

Abella: “Ooohhh WOW! Yes.  I see him.  What an ora!!! (long pause) Ummm…Nicole, are you trying to have children?”

(I respond.  I’m not “trying,” but I do love children.)

Abella: Well, I’ll tell you that your first child is definitely a son.  Hands down.  There is blue everywhere when I see you and your abdomen.

Nicole: Are you saying I might be… pregnant, Abella?

Abella: Very soon. And Nathaniel will be very supportive.

Nicole: I see… Is there anything else I should know about while we’re on this baby subject…?

Abella: I see 3 children.  First a boy, then a girl… (pause) maybe another boy… oh, and you have a possibility of having fraternal twins. All will be healthy. And you’re very, very lucky.  I can see that Nathaniel loves every cell in your body, from your brain to your feet.  (Note: I have disgusting and large feet.)

On the career front, Abella mentioned that I should continue doing my “side jobs” (I’m assuming she meant writing this blog) and that I need to find a female mentor.

Good advice.

Next I asked her about a handful of my family members.  I started with my parents and asked about one of my sisters and one of my brother-in-laws.

Abella:  Gabriel, please show me Mike and Lisa.  (pause)  “OH MY GODDDD ARE THEY IN LOVE!”

My parents have worked together for years.  Abella immediately mentioned that they miss sharing an office (wow!) and that my Mom is ready to start slowing down with the business (true).  She also foreshadowed some interesting business opportunities that might come their way in the next 2-3 years.   She then dove into some details about these opportunities and the emotion my parents feel for their business.

I then asked about my youngest sister Jay, a college student who also has her own business. As Gabriel channeled Jay’s ora, she said she had to get up and walk around because there was so much energy there.  She used words like “artist” and “working on a project for 36 hours straight without sleeping,” “passion and creativity” and a “lack of focus.”  Jay is totally Loopy/ADD (thus the name of her business), passionate and creative.

I also had some interesting discussions about a few other family members before our time ran out that I won’t share here.  Now that I’ve had a few days to marinate on the call, I have a few more questions I’d like to ask Abella.

Overall, I had a GREAT experience with Hollywood Psychics and I would most definitely call Abella again (apparently she’s one of their highest rated psychics).  If anything, it was super fun and entertaining.  If you ever get curious and decide to try it out, the first time you call in it’s only $1 per minute and the first 3 minutes are free.  This means a 20 minute session (which goes super fast!) is only $17- not nearly as expensive as I thought it would be!

I’m super curious: have any of you ever wanted to talk to a psychic?  Did it freak you out?  Did the predictions come true?  Has anyone else been dying to try it?
