According to Cary Cooper, Professor of Organizational Psychology and Health at Lancaster University, “It is not surprising that businesses want to employ intelligent staff but the idea that intelligent people wear glasses is an old stereotype that has not gone away.It comes from the belief that you develop bad eyesight by reading a lot and that reading makes you more intelligent.”

A study conducted by the British College of Optometrists found that a polished appearance may help more than wearing prescription glasses but it’s pretty safe to say that there’s confidence found in wearing eyeglasses and the confident look is what may help win over a potential employer.
