Easy winter styling

Is it a dress? Is it a jumper? No, it’s super-tunic! Warm, practical and smart all at the same time, they’re a go-to piece for those mornings when you don’t have much time to choose what to wear.

A bit of a one-piece wonder, simply team a tunic with skinny jeans or tights to keep off the chill. Tu at Sainsbury’s cover classics to brights and cable knits to high necks, so there’s sure to be a style that suits the dress code of your workplace.

Small but cosy

Not just for summer, miniskirts come in all sorts of warm fabrics like leather and tweed. The key to wearing them in the office is balancing the fact that your legs will be on show by covering your top half. As a double-whammy, tights and a turtleneck will also mean you’ll be toasty warm this winter at work.

Jump up the style stakes

Jumpsuits don’t look like they’re going out of fashion any time soon and will also keep your midriff nice and cosy. Offering the glamour of a dress with all the comfort of a trouser suit, it’s easy to see why they continue to be such a winner in the workwear stakes.

Slim leg trousers are always a wise choice in the winter. Paired with boots, they keep draughts out without trailing any extra fabric on the floor when it’s wet outside.

Practicality aside, slim trousers are timeless and sleek. Go for a peg leg or a straight cut for formal attire, or opt for something skinnier if your work is more casual. Layer with a cardigan

 

One minute you’ve been scaling the stairs and are hot, the next you’re at your desk and are getting chilly. An easy-on, easy-off cardigan solves the temperature shift and range from short and prim to long and chunky.

Short cardigans are great to wear with miniskirts and longer ones with slim trousers. The winter version of a blazer, choose a coatigan for warmth and sharp dressing. In case you didn’t know, they’re part way coat, part way cardigan and are usually smartly styled with collars and edging just like a coat but in a softer fabric.
