Canopy Tours And Zip Lines

What better way to experience the tropical cloud forests than to take a canopy tour? The clouds hover around the canopy of trees and drip onto the plants below. The atmosphere is moist, as the sun cannot fully penetrate the thick trees, leading to an abundance of rare species of plant life.

A series of zip lines have been established in many of the forests where you can travel high above the forest floor. Monteverde is a popular location with its famous coastline, coffee plantations, and monkeys.

Hiking

Costa Rica offers miles of well-marked trails for hikers setting out on the adventure of a lifetime. Trails will take you along beaches, through rainforests, and up rugged mountains. There are numerous options for those who enjoy a gentle stroll, to more ambitious routes for those who like to push themselves. Guided hikes will allow you to walk and learn about the unique terrain and its indigenous wildlife.

A popular hike takes in the Arenal Volcano National Park. Here you can hike over old lava flows and through the rainforest. The views are breathtaking. Or, hike through Manuel Antonio National Park and enjoy monkeys playing in the forest canopy. Combine your hike with a trip to Manuel Antonio beach where you can rest and swim.

Another route worth mentioning is the Arenal Hanging Bridges Hike. As the name suggests, this trail takes in a series of fixed and hanging bridges where you can observe the forest wildlife beneath the Arenal volcano.
