Becoming a mom and having to deal with kids at every turn can be stressful. However, being a working mom has to be the easiest way to lose your sanity! How do you always maintain a clean home? Here is a question every working mom has had to answer a dozen, if not a hundred, times at some point in their busy life.

I must admit, finding a healthy balance between being a working professional and performing all the duties of a mom can drive you insane. The truth is, only a few homes would function well without a mom. Everything would be a total mess without a full-time mom, cook and an undisputed housekeeper. 

So, how do you keep your home clean as a working mom?

Here are a few tricks to help you in keeping a clean home as a working mom.

Hire a Professional Cleaning Company

If we are being completely honest with each other, it can be challenging for you, as a working mom, to maintain a clean home without the help of someone else. Sometimes, you may need to get a house helper or a professional floor cleaning company to give your home a thorough cleaning. 

You can have an expert clean your home once or twice every quarterly. Doing so would help make your work easier as you will only need a couple of hours each week to do some light cleaning up.

Create a Cleaning Schedule and Stick to It

How many hours does it take to clean your house from top to bottom? Perhaps 5 or 6 hours at least, depending on the size of your house. As a working mom, you do not have that much time during the weekdays. Additionally, you probably don’t want to allocate that amount of time to cleaning during your weekends. 

That is why you need to create a cleaning schedule. For instance, you can allocate your days in the following order:

• Monday – Cleaning and dusting floors
• Tuesday – Cleaning bathrooms
• Wednesday – Cleaning the kitchen
• Thursday – Cleaning bedrooms
• Friday – Cleaning the backyard
• Saturday – Declutter and do some laundry
• Sunday – Resting/family day

Involve Your Kids in the Cleaning Exercise

If they contribute to the mess, why don’t they as well be part of the solution? 

Depending on the age of your children, you can assign them some tasks here and there. If they are older, they can help with the actual work, such as cleaning one bathroom while you do the other one. For younger kids, assigning them some simple tasks, such as putting away toys, can help keep them busy while you do the actual work.

Aside from the help they can offer, there are some benefits of assigning children chores while you clean up the house together. For instance, it teaches essential life skills and helps them learn responsibility and the importance of teamwork.

Buy the Right Cleaning Tools

Regardless of how big or small your house is, the cleaning exercise can become a nightmare if you do not have the right cleaning tools and equipment. For that reason, ensure you invest in the right tools and keep them in good condition always. 

Additionally, you need to have cleaning supplies in abundance. You do not want to run out of these supplies when you are having against time to complete the cleaning before you leave for work or your kids arrive from school.
