kitchen organizing tips

Irrespective of the size of your kitchen, you might find it challenging to stay organized. A kitchen has a lot of stuff, from pantry items to small appliances, utensils, cookware, and edibles. The idea is to organize everything in a way that each item is easy to access while not creating a messy kitchen. Once you have finished properly organizing it will also make cleaning the house in that area much, much easier. These kitchen organization tips should come in handy.

How to Organize  Your Kitchen

Utensil tray

For small narrow drawers, you may want to opt for a silverware organizer that fits in perfectly.  This will keep your utensils organized. In order to keep your silverware drawer organizer from moving every time you use the drawer, use a pool noodle that fits snuggly between the drawer and the organizer.

Get a Cooking Caddy

Free up countertop space by placing condiments and spices in a cooking caddy or rack. An easy-to-carry caddy will free up countertop space. Keeping them all everyday cooking essentials in a caddy and stowed in a cabinet after cooking is an excellent way to keep your countertop space free.

Spice it up

While you love your spices, you surely find it tough to stock it all up. A spice rack can come in handy when it comes to organizing kitchen. Those little containers of spices look beautiful stacked together in a spice rack and are easy to reach out to when you need them. What’s more, you can add printed labels on each jar so you know what’s hiding which spice.

De-clutter the counter with lazy Susan

There is at least something that never makes it off the counter. This may include salt and pepper, honey, condiment, or your favorite seasoning. All these items end up taking up precious counter space. So one way to organize kitchen is to place these items on a lazy Susan. Congratulations, you’ve a neat solution to de-cluttering the counter. Even a cake stand is a good idea to organize oft-used items.

Upcycle egg crates

One interesting kitchen organizing tips is to turn your egg crates into an interesting storage solution. Cut it into thin sizes that would fit into your fridge door. Congrats on your new storage option. Store condiments upside down.

A sponge holder as a storage solution

If you are in the habit of keeping condiment packets, then they are usually found cluttering up space in the fridge or drawer or dining table, right? Well, an interesting way to organize kitchen is to use a sponge holder for storing these mini packets. You may want to put the sponge holder in your cabinet or even on the inside of the fridge.

Kitchen cabinet sides as a storage idea

When it comes to organizing kitchen, use those sides of the cabinets to store spoons, forks, and knives. You can better put to use such cabinets with exposed sides with hooks or rails or even shelves to put space to best use.

 Add tension rods to cabinets

Another interesting way to organize kitchen is to use cabinets purposely. Adding tension rods to cabinets frees up a lot of space for stacking things.

Use wall space for pantry storage

Don’t worry if you do not have walk-in pantry. Use your creativity to use wall space to stock basic staples. Think vertical and if there’s room on the wall, a pegboard pantry is a great space-saving solution.

Give cookbooks some space

Find a space dedicated to keeping your recipe treasures. After all, you cannot throw you’re your grandma’s cookbooks, can you? It is okay to place cookbooks on open shelves if there is space.

Turn cabinets to drawers

One of the interesting kitchen organizing tricks is to place rolling racks inside the existing cabinets. This will serve two purposes – save space and add extra storage. You can easily pull out the cabinets and access things. Or you may add some baskets instead, which will work the same way.

Invest in shelf risers

Shelf risers are an excellent storage solution to organize kitchen. They are equally versatile and can fit in wherever you want. You may want to pace them in the cabinets or on the countertop, where they can sit and hold frequently used items.

Build a diagonal organizer for the drawer

When it comes to organizing kitchen, it is a good idea to build a diagonal organizer in place of right angles. With diagonally built angles, you add more space and flexibility to the drawers. Storage becomes all the easier.

Hang them all

It is a good idea to wall mount pot holders, aprons, and towels on pegs and space them out. When there is no unnecessary stuff lying on the counter, your kitchen shall look clean and tidy.
