Southern California is a near-perfect place to live. The weather there is great. There are plenty of industries that are hiring in Southern California, too. Local schools are good, and so are the hospitals. Southern California has long been a big part of the American Dream, and these communities are a big part of its allure.

Anaheim

Anaheim is best known for theme parks like Disneyland. But it’s also a great place to live year-round. Anaheim has great schools and is close to many beautiful public parks. Dana Point

Dana Point is an affluent, beautiful enclave. It’s known for its great beaches, historic ships and wonderful sightseeing. Dana Point attracts lots of intelligent, interesting people from all over the world. It’s a great place to catch dolphin and whale cruises as well as call home.

Chula Vista

Chula Vista means “beautiful view” in Spanish. This is one of the largest cities and most scenic cities in Southern California. Traditionally, Chula Vista was one of the citrus capitals of the world. There’s still a big Lemon Festival held in the city annually. Chula Vista is just seven miles from the city of San Diego and all that it has to offer. Relative to other parts of the state, Chula Vista is also an affordable place to live in California. It’s also an easy commute to many big employers, including UCSD.

La Jolla

La Jolla Village is often thought of as a standalone community, but it’s actually part of the city of San Diego. It’s right along the coastline, incorporating seven miles of coastline. La Jolla has a lovely, walkable downtown that’s filled with restaurants and small stores. This is an area that has a real community feel.

Valley Village

Valley Village is located in the San Fernando Valley, in Los Angeles County. This is a wonderful family-oriented community. Single-family homes and apartments are both readily available in this area. There are plenty of great coffee shops, premium grocery stores, small theaters, and locally-owned shops in the neighborhood. It’s an artistic place that’s home to many successful actors, agents, and talent managers, including the legendary Debra Manners. This tends to be an affordable place for young professionals to rent.

Calabasas

Calabasas may be famous because people like the Kardashians call it home. However, this community is more than just a bedroom community full of celebrities. Calabasas is full of highly-educated, industrious people. There are plenty of successful doctors, dentists, and other professionals living in Calabasas. This is also a community that believes in investing in itself. Calabasas has great schools with great activity programs. It’s a great home base for young professionals interested in starting a family.
