Canada’s smallest towns have the biggest personality, yet many won’t notice because they don’t think to visit them!

So whether you want to take a vacation in the mountains, or you’re interested in stopping and shopping, these are some of the best Canadian towns to visit that won’t disappoint.

Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia

If you want the perfect quiet beach town with a touch of fun quirkiness, you’ll find it in Peggy’s Cove.  This small town and its very well-known lighthouse are just thirty minutes from Halifax, but it feels like it’s in a different world.

From the gorgeous coastlines and incredible people to the fun festivals and shops that keep this area lively in the summer, this town has a lot of personalities and stands out as one of the best places to visit if you’re in the area.

Halton, Ontario

This small and cute town outside of Toronto is a perfect place to stop, shop, and enjoy the lakeside views.  This area offers a chance to enjoy the beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens and even stop to catch the sights at the Rattlesnake Point Conservatory.

This town has a reputation as a quiet town to slip away to when you need a moment of peace outside of the city, and some love that peace and quiet so much they start looking at Halton real estate.  This is an awesome place to visit and a popular place to consider moving to.

Niagara Falls, Ontario

Many may be caught off guard to realize that this is a small town, but if you don’t count the visitors who drive through every day: there aren’t many people who live around the falls.  Living here allows you to see Niagara Falls whenever you want, but it’s so much more than that.

This small town has some of the most beautiful fall foliage in all of Canada, with its endless forests turning bright hues of red and orange the moment the seasons start to shift.  Visitors can enjoy plenty of shopping and fun here, and it’s the perfect road trip destination for anyone wanting to travel.

Jasper, Alberta

If you want some gorgeous views in a relatively quiet area, Jasper National Park will amaze you.  Often outshone by Banff, this park just a couple of hours outside Edmonton has a lot going for it.  The endless untouched wilderness is breathtaking, but when you combine it with the massive incredible mountains that make up so much of the park, you won’t want to look away.

Busiest in the summer, you can pick up a coffee at the local vegan bakery and then hike through the park and catch some of the most incredible views in Canada.  This is worth a visit, even if you can only stop for a day.

A lot of Canada is awe-inspiring the moment you step outside of the cities, so don’t be afraid to give it a try!  Each of these locations are popular tourist spots, but in their offseasons are almost ghost towns where you can enjoy the peace and quiet with the locals.
