Visa and Passport Problems Every Traveler Should Be Prepared For

One thing in common we all have to go through when we travel is getting our passports and Visa’s ready, and many of us international travellers have an idea of what horrors it may bring if any of these two become a problem. There is not one definite process for it as different countries have different immigration laws and often, these immigration laws change without prior notice.

The most common problems people encounter are surprisingly the easiest to avoid. Like when a passport expiring within the nest 6 months, in these cases you will not be allowed to travel, so make sure you renew your passports six months prior to expiration so as not be inconvenienced by this.

Another issue would be applying for the wrong visa. There are different types of Visa’s that you can apply for depending on you purpose of entering the country, i.e. fiancee visa, working visa, resident visa, student visa and then there visa except foreign nationals like the UK that are eligible for the Visa Waiver Program entering the United States for holidays or business, you can process this application prior to travel dates through an online application called ESTA.

You can go here to check what kind and if you will need a visa to any country you will be traveling to.

According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security U.S. Customs and Border Protection, an ESTA or the Electronic System for Travel Authorization, is an automated system that determines the eligibility of visitors to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). Authorization via ESTA does not determine whether a traveler is admissible to the United States. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers determine admissibility upon travelers’ arrival.

This basically means that although you were able to get this travel documentation it not a sure guarantee that we will allowed in by border security.

It is important to be proactive about your research, most information we need are already available online through official websites, and if the information you are looking for is not online, there are always was to reach out to the respective embassies or bureaus that can help you with the process.
