4 Steps to All-natural Beauty

morning routine all-natural

We tend to forget that skin is our biggest organ. So if the old saying is true about ‘you are what you eat’ then we are also ‘what we absorb’. A healthy diet and healthy skin products should go hand in hand for clean, glowing skin. The best way to filter ‘healthy’ cosmetics is by choosing the ones with all-natural ingredients.

Step 1: CLEANSING

Let loose of the harsh chemicals for cleansing and get to know your alternatives. Most of the all-natural facial cleansers can be made of things you could even eat or cook.

Oil Cleansers

This one is always a big surprise to those not so familiar with all-natural cosmetics. You may ask, ‘How could an oil cure my oily skin problem?’ It is a good question, yet there are oils for each skin type, even oily ones! There are a couple of oils though that fit all skin types. How to use them for cleansing? Spread a couple of drops of the oil or the mix of oils on your face with clean hands. While your skin absorbs all the minerals and vitamins prepare a warm, wet towel. Then remove the excess oil, dirt, and make-up from your face.

Be careful!

We all love coconut and olive oils, but be careful where you use them. They nurture your hair and body but don’t use solid coconut and olive oils on your face. They can make the situation worse in this area when they clog your pores. Mix coconut oil with other ingredients like castile soap and honey for safe facial cleansing.

Use soap cleansers for the second step of the cleansing process. Try tea tree oil or charcoal soaps for acne-prone skin. While natural almond soap is recommended for you if your skin is dry or mature.

Take on a royal beauty routine by using milk for cleansing. Take a handful of cow milk and enjoy how the acids and oils clean and nurture your face at the same time like you are an Egyptian queen. If you prefer vegan products, use the geishas’ traditional way: a cup of rice milk for cleansing your face.

Another ancient recipe is the most simple traditional routine. Simply spread raw honey on your face. It will be harder to remove than the other options but think about its generous antioxidants and benefits to enjoy this odd process.

Step 2: EXFOLIATING

It is important not to overdo exfoliation. To keep the natural PH balance of your skin, repeat this step 1-2 times a week for oily skin, and only one time for other types of skin. You can choose from two methods: chemical exfoliation with acids & enzymes, and granular exfoliation with scrubs. Try freshly pressed pure lemon juice, or a mix of oils and coffee grind and sugar to enjoy both all-natural methods at home. Gently clean your face with a warm wet towel.

Step 3: TONING

Face mists are not only refreshing for your skin but also for your mind and soul. Spray rose water with a few drops of lavender oil onto your face between busy meetings. Use the benefit of this ‘pick me up’ trick in stressful home office hours or summer days. Let the gentle scents increase your mood.

Face mists can also work as toners. Remove the last traits of dirt and tighten your pores in a new, gentle, and all-natural way. Create your own aloe mist using 6 tbsp of aloe, juice of one lime, and one cup of distilled water. Remember to store them in the fridge for the coolest experience and the later expiration.

Step 4: HYDRATING

Try the benefits of serums. The most commonly used favorite of all is Vitamin C serum. Feed your skin with antioxidants and reduce your blemishes. Lighten dark spots and circles while increasing the natural collagen production of your skin in this magical yet simple way.

Oils, oils, oils! All-natural skincare will always lead us back to these nurturing extracts. They work perfectly not only as cleansers but they also substitute the traditional idea of face creams. Choose the kind that matches your skin type. Enjoy the texture and scent that matches your mood.

What are the general skin types?

We separate facial skin into 3-5 categories: Dry or Mature, Oily, Acne-prone, Normal and Combination skin. Many facial oils work for all types, but there are some specific ones to use in case you are sure about yours.

Use rosehip oil mixed with avocado, argan, or almond oils against wrinkles and dryness. Put this magical mixture on at home or before bed, as the rosehip oil will give an orangy tone to your skin, and will also color your textiles, like clothes and pillowcases. Do not worry, it is worth the struggle!

Use jojoba or grapeseed for oily skin. Sesame and hemp seed oils will help you with your acne-prone skin. Try rose oil for your sensitive facial skin.

Argan and almond oils work with all skin types and are also perfect carriers for essential oils. Have the complete therapeutic experience at home with added drops of lavender, rose, sandalwood, tea tree, or cedarwood oils. The list is endless, find your favorite scents and get creative.

MASKS

These amazing mixtures can fall into any of the categories. You can use clay masks for cleansing your face. But they can also hydrate and fill your skin with antioxidants. Cure your uneven skin tone or acne. Buy powder clay, mix it with water, add your favorite essential oils and forget about the big girl problems for a few minutes. Give yourself a break and experiment with this versatile option to cure any skin complaint.

Have faith in nature’s power in solving your skin problems. Research methods, tricks, recipes, listen to opinions and try them yourself. Give your skin some time to adjust to your new, clean, nasty free routines. Reach out to a nutritionist to see what is going on inside your body. Try to understand what your skin is trying to tell you. Listen to yourself, trust your body’s messages. Act to your benefit, for your physical, mental, and emotional health. Your skin will thank you you’ll feel rejuvenated even while you’re working from home.
