Five Career Changes to Consider in 2021

massive career change

If you’ve been thinking about making that career change, now just may be the time. Millions of people around the country are running out of unemployment benefits and going back to work. The economy is in flux. There is a lot of uncertainty. Priorities have shifted and people are beginning to change their lives in significant, fundamental ways.

Are you someone who hates their job? Do you want to find more meaning? Are you sick and tired of doing the same thing day-in-day-out? Don’t toil away doing the same thing that you’ve hated for years. When you want to change your life, finding a new career will help you find meaning and happiness. Here are five career changes to consider in 2021.

Nursing

With health and health care being a primary concern of our society, a lot of people are considering nursing to help other people and establish a respected career. One of the things that’s great about the field is that you don’t need to have an elite education to be a nurse. In fact, online ABSN programs provide the training and certification that you need to become a nurse. Furthermore, nurses don’t always have to work in hospitals, and there are a wider variety of places where nurses can work. If nursing interests you, you can find a fulfilling career in the field.

Find Your Trade

If you are tired of your current job, you could look into a new trade to take on. Think about what you want out of your new vocation and take classes to learn the trade. Do you want to be outside? Do you want to work with your hands? Want to learn about machinery? One of the best things that you can do for yourself is learn something new, and trades are the best ways to change your career because they are accessible. Not only will you be able to get trained in a job you are interested in, but a lot of these trades also make high-paying salaries. From construction to plumbing to electricity, trades are useful, important, and rewarding.

Renewable Energy

One of the fields that is growing and won’t stop growing in the future is renewable energy. Become a part of the green revolution and work either in the science behind solar, wind, hydro, and others, or help to install the equipment. Either way, you will be doing something good for the planet and yourself. You can install solar panels, become a technician for wind turbines, or develop the technology used in the production of renewable energy. Whatever part of the process you land on, working with green energy is a great thing to do and it will be in demand as time goes on. You won’t have to worry about your salary going down anytime soon.

Data, Analytics, & Stats

Another growing field is data analytics and statistics. Data, as the cliche goes, is the new oil. It is an increasingly valuable resource. People are buying and selling data like crazy. While there are a lot of ethics involved with data, if you have the skills, education, and experience in math, analytics, or stats, a career in analytics will be both lucrative and interesting. You’ll be able to make an impact and use your skills to do it. The future of data will change our lives and it’s another area that won’t go away in a few years. The demand for these jobs will remain.

Physical Therapist

Physical therapy is another field where you can help people, get trained easily, and have a lot of room for growth. Not only is being a physical therapist a good job, but it is also a rewarding one. You will learn a lot about the body and help people mitigate their pain and discomfort. If you want to work in health in some way but don’t want to work in medicine, you should think about physical therapy as a possible career choice.

Whatever you want to stop doing and start doing, there are plenty of jobs to change your life. 2021 is clear about where the jobs are headed. Luckily many of them are rewarding and will be lucrative long into the future. Think about what you want to do and what will fulfill you, then get started on your new path today!
