school day

Ok, so there’s a ton of stuff on Netflix you want to watch at the moment but perhaps you could spend your time in a more valuable way. Of course, watching 8 episodes of Gilmore Girls in preparation for the new series start IS important. But really, maybe if you cut that down to 4 episodes instead of 8 you could squeeze in learning whole new skills. As you get a little older, it’s important to keep learning new things and challenging your mind. If you becomes complacent, then you will  stop achieving your dreams. Treat every day like a school day and give yourself a chance to grow as much as possible! It can be a little hard knowing where to start, though. Learning a new skill can actually be pretty daunting! You just need to remember to start at the beginning, and you’ll be ok.

There are so many things that you can try out too! Don’t limit yourself – go wild! You sometimes have to try something to see whether or not you’re going to like it.

1. Start a blog

If you’ve always harbored a secret ambition of being a writer, then now is the perfect time to start a blog. A blog can show off a self-starter attitude, commitment, design skills and of course writing skills. If you’re obsessed with makeup – just do it – start a makeup blog! One of the scariest things for a writer in the blank white page, but once you get past that you just need to go for it. It’s also a great way to learn some HTML coding skills too. Try to be disciplined with yourself and maintain an editorial calendar. Also utilize social media channels too. These are all excellent skills that people will be impressed by. Give it a go!

2. Go back to school

These days you can learn an abundance of new stuff from the comfort of your own home. You don’t even need to leave the house to add some serious skills to your arsenal! You could have always dreamed of becoming a holistic nurse, well now you can! The RN-BSN Online Program is fantastic, and you’ll have a fabulous new career option at the end of it! There are heaps of online courses that you can take. Have a search online and see which one takes your fancy. You can do anything you put your mind to.

3. Make yourself uncomfortable

Public speaking is without a doubt one of the scariest things that you can do. If you can teach yourself to overcome this fear, well, you have yourself a new skill! Just think about how confident you’ll be when you go to a job interview or if you have to do a speech at a wedding. Public speaking is a skill that will take you far and wide. Check online for courses and keep pushing yourself even if you hate it. Don’t forget to practice in front of your friends too!
