Ms. Career Girl is Getting Botox!

Ok, slow your roll people- I’m not getting Botox. I’m only 25!

Starting Monday, this very site is getting a few nips and tucks which I want to tell you about!

After an intial meeting with Matt Cheuvront of lifewithoutpants.com, I temporarily felt deflated and shitty about my one true passion, Ms. Career Girl. Matt was confused about the focus of Ms. Career Girl. He asked why I have posts about buying your first home, next to posts about winter beauty essentials, next to posts about networking. Hmm, he has a point.

So after much thought- a lot which came in the middle of the night- I decided Matt was on to something. I finally called my amazing sister Ashley for advice. Without hesitation, she said “Ms. Career Girl’s posts always go back to three things, finding out who you are, what you want, and how to get it.” And after that short conversation, I had my first full night of sleep in a long time.

No matter what stage of your career you are in, these questions plague a lot of us.

I’ve discovered in my own short life, that having a sense of who you are and what you want unlocks a whole new area of your life. It makes things much easier because you can simply say “no” to things that aren’t aligned with who you are or what you want.

Our career is most definitely NOT the only road to happiness, but it certainly does set the back drop to all the other areas of our lives.

I believe that the three pilars of well-being start with your career, your finances and your health- all of which you can control.

Therefore, the focus of this site is to help you achieve your goals, in addition to:

  • Help you stop being depressed about your current situation and do something about it.
  • To have support in the day-to-day struggles of accomplishing your goals and living your ideal life.
  • To discover the REAL you, not what everyone else wants you to be.
  • To find a career path that you enjoy AND that pays the bills.
  • To hear real people, present real problems, and real solutions.

Ms. Career Girl is designed to be a COMMUNITY of support. Therefore, your emails, suggestions, real life problems and solutions are crucial. Don’t be afraid to send me an email so we can all talk about it and help you. In addition to your career goals, your goals saving money, getting healthy, and paying down debt are fair game here because for the modern career person, theses areas are all intertwined.

You’ll also notice a few new pages:

Email subscription will now be an option. Sign up so you can get some inspiration from your iPhone or Blackberry each day.

The Sighitings page will give links to articles I’ve written outside of Ms. Career Girl, along with radio shows/books/magazine articles/events I’ve been a part of.

The Hire page will show my desire to take my passions for career well-being and social media to the next level.

The Favorites page will give links to my favorite things because, after all, I love to shop and especially when I’m buying things that make my life easier or more successful.

Thanks again for being part of this community when you have the option of being part of a billion others. You guys keep me going and are one of my biggest sources of career happiness.

Make it a great day today. And, as always, get in touch with me if you have suggestions or concerns.
