Great Gift Ideas for a New Boyfriend

The dating game can be rough – but every so often you’ll meet a great guy who seems to check out even after the fourth, fifth or sixth date. By this point, it’s starting to blossom into a new relationship and you start to spend more time together. But then you reach that awkward point in your budding partnership when a birthday or national holiday creeps up on you, and you’re just not sure what to buy for your new beau.

Gifting a new boyfriend isn’t easy and some women just don’t know what is considered too much or what may be considered too little. For instance, a box of chocolates (unless he’s a self confessed chocolate addict) probably isn’t appropriate as your first gift to him. And a bottle of wine could seem a little too impersonal. So here are some great gift ideas.

1) A Beautiful Art Piece for his Home

New relationships are developed on sharing interests and getting to know each other’s favorite books, artists and musicians. Leave a lasting memory in his home with a beautiful piece of art; a print, a canvas, a famous photograph or a sculpture by an up-and-coming artist. It’s an easy way of showing him what an interesting and well-rounded person you are. Find out where you can find affordable art on Buzzfeed.

2) Experience Gifts

If giving material goods isn’t your style, a great idea is to purchase an experience gift that you can both enjoy together. Think about his hobbies, what he loves to talk about, or what he likes to do at weekends and create an exciting day/weekend that can help you get even closer. From rally car racing and horseback riding to unique dining experiences and cocktail classes, there is so much to choose from.

3) The Luxury Silk Tie

Presenting a new partner with expensive designer clothing can appear as a slight overkill. For a more casual gift which sets the bar high but won’t scare him away, try accessories such as a luxury silk tie or some stylish cufflinks. Visit Knightsbridge Neckwear for a selection of luxury silk ties which are perfect as presents.

4) Football or Basketball Tickets

Whether sports is your thing or not, there’s nothing more touching than a girlfriend showing interest in her boyfriend’s hobbies. Get front row seats for the Nicks or for the Broncos and watch him smile as he opens the envelope.

5) Craft Beers

A bottle or ordinary store bought wine is too impersonal. But if you know your man is into craft beers, source him some interesting and quirky brews and he will really appreciate the effort. Read up on the best 100 craft beers that every American should try.

5) Premium Cigars and Cigar Accessories

Many guys out there will smoke the occasional cigar, whether it is to celebrate a friend or relatives newborn arrival, at a wedding, or on the golf course, it’s like a rite of passage to smoke a cigar with other men.  You will want to make sure you are getting a premium cigar brand like Macanudo. There is also the option to get him a humidor or a cigar cutter or lighter.  These will all surely bring a smile to his face.
