Curtain hanging is as important as the color and the size of the curtain. Therefore, as you pay close attention in choosing other aspects of your curtain, you should also spend some considerable part with curtain hanging. There are several designs that you can choose for your curtains when it comes to curtain hanging and they include pencil pleat, eyelets, pinch pleat and tab tops. The curtain hanging you choose for your house is determined by your preference and curtain needs. One hanging is suitable for one curtain and completely unsuitable for another curtain. Talk to your decorator about curtain hanging if you are still confused. Curtains control the light that enters your room. Blue curtains are likely to produce eerie sun rays when struck by the UV light.

Do’s and Don’ts when dealing with curtain hanging

We all know the importance of drapes as they are very crucial when dealing with light, the warmth of your room as well as the privacy of your room. You even have the power to affirm your style with the drapes you chose for your house. Drapes also afford you the opportunity to add color and texture in your house. If you follow the following dos and don’ts when dealing with curtain hanging, you are likely to reap maximum benefits. First, ensure that you don’t go too narrow. This is the part that you go for a rod that will surpass the window’s width. With this design, the panels will fully cover the window thus eliminating the possibility of falling over on either side.

Another guideline in choosing the curtain hanging is using enough fabric for your drapes. Remember the secret is a full feel and not feeling skimpy. Keep in mind that the curtains should be three times bigger than your window if you are planning on opening your windows from time to time. There is a secret in hanging your rod near the ceiling as it will make your window look taller. If you have ever paid attention to properly fixed curtain rods, you would have realized that they lie 5 inches from the window frame on the upper side.

More dos and don’ts

Ensure that you don’t do too short fabric. This means that, on a normal occasion, the fabric should lie on the floor. However, this is a different case for the café style drapes that should not reach the floor. Also, if you worry too much about dragging on the floor, you can leave them hanging. Finally, when choosing a curtain hanging, ensure that it matches with the fabric you choose. This is the part where the fabric should portray the mood of your room.

Equipment you need for hanging drapes

There are some tools and materials that you should equip yourself with the day you decide to hang your curtain panels. Some of these tools include a screwdriver, screws as well as a tape measure. You should also arm yourself with wall anchors, paper, pencil and a level. Don’t forget a rod with brackets. Remember that drapes do more than decoration. For instance, they are responsible for preventing damage to your house furnishings from UV light and also softening the architecture of the window.
