“When I’m not ‘allowed’ to spend money, I’m a lot more creative!”

Here’s something I’ve learned this past week in regards to money: When I’m not allowed to spend it, I’m a lot more creative.

For example, a really good friend was broken up with this week. Normally, I would have taken her out for drinks or made a “Breakup Basket” with stuff to keep her busy or make her feel better–wine, nail polish, my favorite breakup book, “It’s Called a Breakup Because it’s Broken,” etc… Instead, I went over there and we watched dumb, non-romantic comedies, made headbands with materials I already had at my house, and made mixed drinks with vodka I already had in my liquor cabinet. She felt a lot better and I didn’t spend any money…although, I did end up buying the book for her the next day anyway.

I guess if I’ve learned anything, at least in the first week, it’s that there are always alternatives to spending money if you just put a little thought into it.

But then………yesterday I bought a bra and underwear set at H&M, that I didn’t need, just because it was only $15, and I couldn’t pass up that DEAL!!

That’s how I know I’m not quite there yet.
